The Rich History of Twickenham Rowing Club

If you have a minute to spare and would like to learn a little more about our club's incredible history, click on the link above marked "The Club."

John Sewell has updated the page with a detailed timeline, starting with the club's birth on the 26th of July 1860, right the way through to the present day. It's a rich and varied story, taking in exiled French kings, the invasion of Algeria, the court-martial of Marshal Bazaine and the installation of an oil fired water heater.

It all starts with the distinguished looking chap on the left, Henri d'Orleans, duke of Aumale and our first ever president.
