Last week saw TwRC's first full Junior Summer Sculling Camp. It's been a fun packed two weeks of developing skills of Juniors from local clubs and schools.

Coached by Ben Rowe, Junior Head Coach, Michael Probert and Alex Foster with helpers Jenny and Christa from Tideway Scullers School, and James and Jacqui from TwRC it was guaranteed to be a success from the start!

Younger juniors took part in a half day course starting early and finishing at lunchtime but squeezing in a land and water session. The older juniors training for a full day complete with land training, two water sessions and a healthy cooked meal for lunch.

The course content ranged from short paddles in small boats, to trips through Teddington Lock, drills in 1x and time trials down the back of Eel Pie Island. It's been a camp for every student to remember and they have picked up many skills along the way that they can take back to their respective clubs with them.

Look out soon for our fantastic video that will show everything that the Juniors got up to during their camp with us.

The next Sculling Camp will be December 2013, it will be open to Juniors from any club that have experience rowing.  More information will be released closer to the time!
