Notts City Race Results

The senior men and women opened their 2014 summer racing account up at Notts City Regatta with some promising signs for the coming months.

Our mens first eight is big, strong and fit but rather inexperienced. They had little idea what sort of speed they were bringing into the race but nerves were settled after they dominated their IM2 heat and went on to a creditable fourth place in the final. They dominated again in the IM3 heat and rowed through the field in the final to reach second place. Overall, a pleasing start to the regatta season, especially as they only lost to one club crew all day.

The women outperformed the men with Marie Grant and Anna Porteous, two of our START athletes, combining to win IM3 doubles in fine style from a decent field. And this was after they came second and third respectively in the morning's IM3 singles event. They move on to the coming races in confident mood.
