New Hardstanding

After the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Sunday 2 August, TwRC’s President, Paul Davis, officially ‘opened’ the new hardstanding in front of the clubhouse. Funding for the development has been generously provided by Sport England, Viridor Credits, Richmond Civic Pride and the members of the Club. This much-needed work has made it easier to get to the water from all boat racks, while a new path and ramps to each step improve disabled access.

The brief ceremony – Paul did wonder beforehand how one actually went about ‘christening’an expanse of concrete – was witnessed by members of the Club plus some honoured guests, who included Benedict Dias (Richmond Riverside Councillor), Colin Heath (Chairman of the Eel Pie Island Residents’ Association), Jane Bellamy (Hampton Fuel Allotments) and Andy Parkinson (CEO of British Rowing).
