We are an open and friendly squad who acknowledge that people have different priorities in their lives and hence we try to allow for as much flexibility in the schedule. The group is split into crews preparing for the next head or regatta. We are all usually over 40 to fit in with British Rowings main categories. We have both sculling and sweep rowing arms of the racing masters group although improving your single sculling skills is the backbone of the programme and you will quickly develop your skills.
We train typically 4 times a weeks coached by the head coach for at least half of those sessions. The weekly schedule is the following, although sessions can move to although for other commitments:
Wednesday: Ergo session and circuits.
Thursday: Coached weights and outing.
Saturday: Sculling ladder then outing.
Sunday: Coached outing and weights.
If you are new to rowing and wish to find out if it is the sport for you, the club runs regular Learn to Row programmes to teach you the rudiments of rowing and to allow you to savour our particularly beautiful stretch of the Thames. These are described elsewhere on the site.
The Master's Men's VC is James Sirmon.
The Master's Women's VC is Anne Jones.
