Classes are ideal for beginners and cater to experienced athletes too. We provide technical coaching for all levels of rower, as part of the ultimate full-body workout, in a fun, supportive environment! Classes are also great prep for on the water “Learn to Row” courses.
Class Options:
Row, Core & More
1 hour per class, learning proper rowing technique, improve your posture and core strength, and build fitness and power. Classes easily include participants with different fitness levels as options are given for different intensities, from maintaining a steady pace to finding new physical limits! Rowing workouts are broken up with sections off the machine including work on mobility, strength, the core and flexibility.
SilverRow (designed for ages 45+)
45 minutes per class, with the same emphasis on good technique, posture and core engagement but the workouts are generally kept at a steady pace. All work off the rowing machine is either standing or seated (not on the floor) and includes more work on balance and functional fitness. Stay for a free cuppa and a chat afterwards in the beautiful club room overlooking the river.
Prerequisites: None! No rowing or base fitness level is required. Most people that start have never rowed before and so we’re very welcoming of other new starters.
Please contact Su to discuss how indoor rowing can be a good fit for you.
For everyone! The classes are part of the Go Row Indoor initiative set up by British Rowing to give everyone access to the sport of rowing regardless of their age or fitness background. The instructor, Su Hodgson has coached rowing for 20 years and is a personal trainer with specialisms including pre and post-natal exercise design and GP exercise referral (managing health conditions via exercise). She is very experienced in integrating people who are brand new to rowing, into the class, and adapting workouts for different needs and goals whilst keeping everyone working together as a crew.
