After securing European gold in the men's quadruple sculls earlier this month Great Britain continued their momentum by edging out the Polish in a tightly fought contest in Lucerne today.
With a familiar line up of Rory Harris at stroke, Cedol Dafydd, Twickenham's Callum Dixon and Matthew Haywood the GB quad found themselves trailing both the Polish and USA crews after 500m . The middle section saw Great Britain pass through the USA to set up a final sprint for top honours with the Polish. What is now becoming a trademark race tactic Great Britain upped the rate and dominated the last 500m passing the Polish quad to eventually win by nearly two seconds with a time of 05:39.65..
All eyes will now switch to Henley Royal Regatta next week.
