Twickenham's GB Start squad competed in Boston this weekend at the GB Senior, U23 and FISU Open Trials. Excellent performances by Vwaire Obukohwo, Callum Dixon and AIden Thompson saw them battle against seasoned veterans to secure 5th, 1st and 6th place respectfully in the 5km time trials.
Double Olympic Champion Helen Glover returned to winning ways as she triumphed by 0.35 secs over Leicester's U23 Lauren Henry. Vwairé Obukohwo was the next best U23 athlete, but she was pushed into fifth place overall, after an outstanding row from Olivia Bates, the lightweight sculler from Nottinghamshire County RA. Jade Lindo and Sheyi Blackett placed 19th and 20th.
Callum Dixon, who placed seventh overall in the Men’s Single at U23s in Varese, snuck into the top spot. Dixon edged out the former U23 World Champion, Seb Devereux by less than 0.2s. Aiden Thompson's 6th place and Matt Brigham's 10th completed an excellent weekend's performance for 'The Islander's'
