Twickenham Rowing Club invites all members of the Twickenham and Richmond communities to take in the day's events
Twickenham Rowing Club (TwRC) is excited to announce the return of the Twickenham Regatta on Saturday 23rd May 2026.
The regatta course, once again located on the lush Surrey bank of the River Thames immediately east of Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, provides idyllic conditions for competitors and spectators alike as boats race from the River Lane Boating Area toward Eel Pie Island and the finish line at Ham Street Car Park.

The 850 meter course length creates competitive races from start to finish. Additionally, regatta competitors enjoy the water along the two-lane racing course thanks to a wide stretch of the river and minimal traffic from other watercraft.
Residents from the Twickenham and Richmond communities and spectators from across London are invited to watch all race events in person as the regatta is free and open to all ages and no tickets are required to attend. Walking paths along both banks of the river will offer views of the race course, with multiple clearings in Petersham along the Surrey side providing fantastic viewing areas.
Competitors and spectators alike are encouraged to stop by the official Twickenham Regatta grounds at Ham Street Car Park near the finish line to enjoy food and drink, take in the historic trophies dating back to the very first regatta, and support the event with the purchase of regatta and TwRC souvenirs and apparel.
“This event is only possible through the cooperation and goodwill of everyone involved, and it’s always a pleasure to see crews, coaches and officials come together so seamlessly,” said Paul Davis, President, Twickenham Regatta. “Just as importantly, it’s a wonderful day out - bringing together rowing clubs, supporters and the wider public in a great, long-held tradition here at our beautiful club.”
In 2025, the 102nd Twickenham Regatta welcomed more than 20 clubs from across London and the UK, competing in 180 individual races in 40 events.
“2025 saw the first run over the new shortened course and feedback from competitors was so overwhelmingly positive we have stayed with this format this year with just a few tweaks; moving the whole thing downstream about 30m to improve the finish and as a result of that, splitting start marshalling either side of the boating area.” said Davis.
